Overview

Ras Abu Soma is a dive site located just 15 minutes from Soma Bay. The reef descends gently onto a sandy slope, scattered with coral blocks, before plunging into deeper waters. For advanced divers, this site offers a thrilling experience, especially in the northern section where the reef transforms into a dramatic wall, ideal for drift dives.

Moray eels are frequently seen swimming freely across the plateau, while eagle rays gracefully pass by. Divers can also spot octopus and cuttlefish hiding among the corals. Families of clownfish occupy numerous anemones, adding bursts of color to the underwater landscape. Occasionally, larger predators such as sharks have been known to visit, though encounters are rare.

The dive’s topography and diverse marine life make Ras Abu Soma an exhilarating dive site, perfect for experienced divers seeking an adventure in the Red Sea’s vibrant underwater world.
